The ACME Eagle Hand Soap Radio Hour (73)

Another page from the ACME Catalog -

Before our feature presentation, ACME would like to start the evening with a Sylvester the Cat/ Hippety Hopper Looney Tunes cartoon, the 1961 Robert McKimson classic, Hoppy Daze:

The gruff cat's voice is based on Jimmy Durante.

This has been a very busy week for your good ole Doctor. Besides the usual mayhem I'm involved with, SOS graduated from her High School, Our Lady of the Perpetual Annoyance of Your Parents. So today, our sponsor, ACME Eagle Hand Soap Radio Hour is asking you all you join them in watch one of my favorite musicals, My Fair Lady. Make an extra bowl of popcorn and find your favorite spot on the sofa and get comfortable.

Audrey Hepburn later admitted she would never have accepted the role of Eliza Dolittle if she had known that producer Jack L. Warner intended to have nearly all of her singing dubbed. After making 'My Fair Lady', Hepburn resolved not to appear in another film musical unless she could do the singing on her own.

I really like this musical but there just isn't enough dancing in the film. While canoeing in the outerbanks of the intraweb this week, I came upon this great mash-up of dance in the movie by CLS Videos (there are nearly 300 clips that breeze on by.)

Hey any clip that has Fred Astaire, Orson Welles and Christopher Walken dancing can't be bad
