Before our feature presentation, ACME would like to start the evening with a Road Runner/ Wile E. Coyote Looney Tunes cartoon, the 1954 Chuck Jones directed, Stop! Look! And Hasten! :



After Wile E. Coyote takes his Acme Super Leg Muscle Supplement, he takes off in a blaze of fire. The road runner leaves smoke, the coyote leaves fire. The sounds for this fire effect, done by sound genius Treg Brown, were made using an old flame thrower, a motorcycle clip, and sounds from the airplanes in Dawn Patrol, all sped up a bit.


Once again, we're running all over the place because the good ole Doctor is heading to his (and the lovely wife, Mrs. Doctor Caligari, as well) 40th Year Reunion of his High School, The Sacred Oozing Heart of Evil Scientists. Bruce Springsteen released his fourth studio album, Darkness On The Edge of Town on this date in 1978 (40 years as well!). This album was considered a more mature songwriting outlet for Springsteen, at the time. Please join Bruce and The ACME Eagle Hand Soap Radio Hour on this anniversary of his album, by curling up with your loved ones on the ouch and listening to the career making album.



Bruce Springsteen had been prevented from recording anything (including this album) for a year due to litigation involving his former manager, Mike Appel.
