Useless Christmas Trivia

It's time for another guest programmer and as it's SOS' birthday, the staff at ACME thought, "why not let her take a shot," (They couldn't take the constant phone call about was it going to be her turn.)

So take it away birthday girl -

Please Come Home for Christmas   The Eagles -

Many artists have covered this song; the Eagles charted the song at the #18 spot on the Billboard Charts in the US in 1978. Bon Jovi did a popular version for the charity compilation A Very Special Christmas 2, and other artists to record it include Mariah Carey, James Brown, Luther Vandross, Etta James, Harry Connick, Jr., and B.B. King.

Baby It's Cold Outside  Margaret Whiting and Johnny Mercer -

One of the classic Tin Pan Alley duets, "Baby It's Cold Outside" has become a holiday favorite, but Frank Loesser wrote this tune with his former nightclub singer wife Lynn for a housewarming party they were throwing after moving into the Hotel Navarro in New York. Their rendition proved very successful and the couple continued to perform the song at parties they attended in New York and Hollywood.

Happy Holidays You Bastard   Blink 182 -

(Hey I didn't pick it.)

Santa Tell Me   Ariana Grande -

The music video was filmed at Grande's house in Beverly Hills, California.

Last Christmas   Jimmy Eat World -

Written and originally produced by George Michael, this song actually has very little to do with Christmas - it's about a failed relationship. Only the phase "Last Christmas," when the relationship comes to a head, refers to the actual holiday. The Wham version was released in 1984 as a charity record with its proceeds going to famine relief in Ethiopia. Apart from "Do They Know It's Christmas," which was released in 1984, as well, (prevented this from reaching #1,)is the biggest selling Christmas song in the UK.

14 day until Christmas
