ACME Eagle Hand Soap Radio Hour Today (368)
ACME would like to wishes all of their friends and family a happy and healthy New Year!
Before our feature presentation, ACME would like to start the evening with another Daffy Duck Merrie Melodies cartoon, the 1957 Ducking the Devil, (co-starring Tazmanian Devil,) and directed by Robert McKimson.
Despite that Zookeeper Burton says that Taz becomes docile when exposed to music, Taz seems to not be affected by music that sounds unpleasant to his ears. In this case, Taz didn't like the sound of Scottish pipe music, so when Daffy played music with the Scottish pipe, Taz snatched it away from him and smashed it.
In celebration of the Lunar New Year, today's episode of The ACME Eagle Hand Soap Radio Hour wants to watch, with you, BMW's 14-minute mockumentary - Project Jupiter, which takes you on a journey through ancient customs and superstitions, all in the pursuit of good fortune.
In Chinese culture, "Ben Ming Nian" means the year when your zodiac animal aligns with the current Chinese Zodiac year. You might think this brings good luck, but in traditional Chinese belief, it's a year filled with challenges and problems in all parts of your life. However, traditional ways exist to protect yourself from bad luck and gain favour with the gods, even during your Ben Ming Nian.
Another facet of the Lunar New Year celebration, is about traditions. Here at ACME, we can think of no better way to continue with a tradition than watching this 1985 Jackie Chan comedy film, My Lucky Stars, directed by Sammo Hung, and starring Sammo Hung, Jackie Chan and Yuen Biao. My Lucky Stars is the second film in the Lucky Stars series, and a semi-sequel to Winners and Sinners. So push away from the table, get comfortable and enjoy the film.
During a break in filming in Japan, Jackie Chan was actually chased down by a mob of fans who recognized him. The mob almost caused Chan's death when one of them grabbed a hold of his scarf and nearly strangled him as he ran away.

ACME Eagle Hand Soap Radio Hour Today (367)
ACME would like to wishes all of their friends and family a happy and healthy New Year!
Before our feature presentation, ACME would like to start the evening with another Daffy Duck Looney Tunes cartoon, the 1957 Boston Quackie, (co-starring Porky Pig,) and directed by Robert McKimson.
This is one of the few shorts alongside Quackodile Tears where Daffy is seen without his white collar.
In celebration of the Lunar New Year, today's episode of The ACME Eagle Hand Soap Radio Hour wants to watch, with you, Apple's seventh annual film shot entirely with the iPhone 15 Pro Max to celebrate the festive occasion:
The film tells the heartwarming story of a young girl with a unique shapeshifting ability. Through her journey, she learns to overcome her insecurities and embraces her true self. The film aims to bring the audience a heartwarming tale about self-discovery in their pursuit of life in the modern world.
Created in association with TBWA\Media Arts Lab Shanghai, the 15-minute film titled Little Garlic is directed by American filmmaker Marc Webb and features Chinese actor Fan Wei in a lead role.
Another facet of the Lunar New Year celebration, is about traditions. Here at ACME, we can think of no better way to start a tradition with your family by watching this 1990 Hong Kong comedy film, All for the Winner, directed by Jeffrey Lau and Corey Yuen, and starring Stephen Chow, and Ng Man-tat. This is the first movie ever in Hong Kong to cross the $40 million dollar mark in the Hong Kong box office. The film is a parody of God of Gamblers, directed by Wong Jing. So push away from the table, get comfortable and enjoy the film.
Instead of doing a proper sequel, Stephen Chow took his "Gambling Saint" character into Wong Jing's God of Gamblers franchise for two subsequent features. The only true sequel/spin-off to All for the Winner is the film The Top Bet, which cast Anita Mui as Sing's sister. Stephen Chow had a minor cameo in that film.

ACME Eagle Hand Soap Radio Hour Today (366)
ACME would like to wishes all of their friends and family a happy and healthy New Year!
Before our feature presentation, ACME would like to start the evening with another Daffy Duck Merrie Melodie cartoon, the 1957 Ali Baba Bunny, (co-starring Bugs Bunny,) and directed by Chuck Jones.
Several lines spoken by Daffy—among them "Mine mine mine!", "I can't help it, I'm a greedy slob—it's my hobby" and "I'm rich—I'm a happy miser!"—have become popular catch phrases amongst fans and students of Chuck Jones' style of animation and fans of Daffy Duck as well; the line "HASSAAAN CHOP!" has also become a favorite quote.
In celebration of the Lunar New Year, today's episode of The ACME Eagle Hand Soap Radio Hour is sponsored by Lululemon :
Hopefully we can all find the eternal spring in our everyday lives, as obviously Michelle Yeoh has.
Tonight is the Lunar New Year Eve and you may already need a break from your family. Here at ACME, we can think of no better way to relax than watching a classic thriller. The ACME Eagle Hand Soap Radio Hour would like you to join us in watching 1986 influential crime drama, A Better Tomorrow, starring STi Lung, Leslie Cheung, and Chow Yun-fat. (The film was Chow Yun-fat's breakout role and launched him as one of the top superstars in the Hong Kong film industry.) So push away from the table, get comfortable and enjoy the film.
The character of Mark Gor proved to be so popular that many young HKers adopted his style (black trenchcoat, sunglasses, match in mouth). Stores around HK were sold out of the distinctive Ray-Ban sunglasses in less than a week after the movie premiered. All this led to a blasting of John Woo by critics and government officials that he was glamorizing the Triad lifestyle.

ACME Eagle Hand Soap Radio Hour Today (365)
Thank you for joining us today
Before our feature presentation, ACME would like to start the evening with another Daffy Duck Looney Tunes cartoon, the 1956 Deduce, You Say, (co-starring Porky Pig,) and directed by Chuck Jones.
Inside Henry the Eighth’s Fifth pub, there is a sign on the wall advertising SELZER’S WATER (seltzer water). Eddie Selzer was the producer on this cartoon.
Before the start of our feature presentation, the staff of The ACME Eagle Hand Soap Radio Hour was very tickled pink to watch Hermione making cocktails-
We might even try some of the cocktails that she made.
We've picked another entry from the excellent reference book, 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die by Steven Jay Schneider. Today's film is the 1966 iconic Spaghetti Western, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, (aka Il Buono, Il Brutto, Il Cattivo,) directed by Sergio Leone, starring Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef, and Eli Wallach. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly was marketed as the third and final installment in the Dollars Trilogy, following A Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More. The film was a financial success, grossing over $38 million at the worldwide box office, and is credited with having catapulted Eastwood into stardom. The term 'Spaghetti Western' originated in the 1960s, when it was cheaper to make movies in Italy than the United States. Moviemakers made their westerns there and had English dubbed in for the Italian actors. Ironically. many of them were actually filmed in Spain, so they probably should have been referred to as Paella Westerns. So please join us here at The ACME Eagle Hand Soap Radio Hour and sit back, get comfortable and watch The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Ennio Morricone's iconic theme music was designed in places to mimic the sound of a howling coyote. Originally, Morricone did not want to use the trumpet but Leone insisted. Along with the electric and acoustic guitars, and the "tarzan yell", the trumpet became the most distinctive part of the soundtrack.
