The ACME Eagle Hand Soap Radio Hour (189)

Thank you for joining us today.

Before our feature presentation, ACME would like to start the evening with another Bugs Bunny Looney Tunes cartoon (featuring Gossamer, but named Rudolph in this cartoon), the 1952 Water, Water Every Hare, directed by Chuck Jones.

The mad scientist in this short is patterned after Boris Karloff right down to the heavy eyebrows and Dr. Frankenstein riffs that made Karloff a household name in the 40's and 50's.

Before the start of our feature presentation ACME Eagle Hand Soap would like to bring you another From a Certified Young Person -

So kids, take it from a 'real kid', wear a mask, it's cool!

We hope you are doing well with your self quarantines - the programming department of The ACME Eagle Hand Soap Radio Hour have been vigorously scrubbing themselves with ACME Eagle Hand Soap - If your eagle's hands are dirty, we'll wash them clean! and sanitizing themselves for your protection. We are also engaged in social distancing - we are communicating with each other via esperanto and secret tap dancing codes.

While we were reseaching movies the week before last, we came across the 1946 Henry Hathaway film, The Dark Corner. An almost forgotten film noir classic, starring Clifton Webb, William Bendix, Mark Stevens, and Lucille Ball(?) as the loyal secretary who saves her boss. So why not sit back and relax (find the most comfortable seat) get a snack (popcorn anyone,) and a beer or two and join The ACME Eagle Hand Soap Radio Hour in watching The Dark Corner -

In later years, Lucille Ball was vocal about hating the experience of shooting The Dark Corner. The lion's share of her resentment was pointed at director Henry Hathaway, whose bullying reduced Ball to stuttering on set, at which point Hathaway accused her of being inebriated.
