ACME would like to wishes all of their friends and family a happy and healthy New Year!

Before our feature presentation, ACME would like to start the evening with another Bugs Bunny Merrie Melodies cartoon, the 1949 Robert McKimson directed, Rebel Rabbit:

The Southern Congressman that says "This hare must die!" and Bugs Bunny's comeback "It's a joke, son, ya missed it!" is a reference to a catchphrase of Senator Claghorn, a movie character played by Kenny Delmar. Senator Claghorn inspired Foghorn Leghorn, and to some degree, Yosemite Sam. Financier and political consultant Bernard Baruch was famous for spending time on park benches in New York and Washington, an exceptionally obscure reference by today's standards.

In celebration of the Lunar New Year, today's episode of The ACME Eagle Hand Soap Radio Hour is sponsored by Nike:

Remember, Nike: taking respect to another level.

The Lunar New Year, among other things, is about spending time with your loved one, The ACME Eagle Hand Soap Radio Hour can think of no better way to spend time with them than watching the 1978 Jackie Chan classic, The Drunken Master, (remember that Jackie performed most of those himself without stuntmen or special effects, something that is rarely seen in modern cinema.) So slam down you last mahjong tile, get comfortable and enjoy the film.

Jackie Chan (Wong Fei-Hung) nearly lost an eye when Jang Lee Hwang (Jim Ti-Sam) kicked him in the head during the final fight scene. When Hwang became aware of this, he refused to do more takes for the shot.
