It's that time of year

The Sixth Annual Christmas Spectacular

The holidays are upon us and we here at Dr. Caligari's love to celebrate like it nobody's business. So over the next several weeks check back daily (we hope) to see what we're listening to or thinking about - Today's kick-off - The lights of Christmas (exterior)

David Richards, from Canberra, Australia has covering his home in so many LED lights that he has reclaimed the Guinness World Record for the most number of Christmas lights strung on a house. Richards took around a month to set up the decorations, using half a million lights (or 502,165 to be exact) spread along string which if you rolled it out straight would stretch a distance of 29.8 miles

The Richards family says the lights are likely to add an extra $2,300 to his electricity bill for the month of December, but hopes his efforts will be worth it as he plans to raise money for charity when the illuminations open to the public. Two years ago, his light show raised around $71,000 for charitable causes.

Once again, it's nice to see that the public is helping suport the public utilities.  You know that they are barely eking out a living.
